The Pride Center provides programs and support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual members of the OSU community and their allies (LGBTQQIAA). The Pride Center affirms the identities and empowers the lives of people who are LGBTQQIAA by providing education, outreach, program support, consultation, community development, visibility and advocacy. The Pride Center is a safe space for all members of our community to explore aspects of sexual orientation and gender identity in an open and non-judgmental atmosphere.

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in gaining experience working with and serving the LGBTQQIAA community here at OSU. There are three ways for volunteers to get involved with the Pride Center!

Office Volunteer: Office volunteers greet visitors, give tours of the Pride Center, answer the phone, keep the center tidy, and assist the Office Assistants and Internal Coordinator with various projects. These volunteers have regularly scheduled hours in the center.

Communications Volunteer: Communications volunteers promote the Pride Center through our social media outlets. They help keep Facebook, Twitter, and the website up-to-date and create original posts for our OUTlines blog. These volunteers have regularly scheduled hours in the center.

Program Volunteer: Program volunteers assist the Activities and Outreach Coordinators in planning and organizing for events, helping with the set-up and take-down of events, photograph events, and represent the Pride Center through tabling. Program volunteer hours are not regularly scheduled; the hours are based on availability at events and programs.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please fill out the Volunteer Sign-Up Form. We will contact you via email within 3 days and set up a time for volunteer orientation.
