Welcome to the Office of Diversity & Cultural Engagement (DCE)!
DCE consists of several programs and seven Cultural Resource Centers (CRCs) which provide students with opportunities to critically explore the world we live in, engage in transformative learning experiences, and advance scholarly research and personal academic goals.
We provide numerous leadership opportunities through our CRCs, opportunities for academic advancement through our Meyer Memorial trust partnership, and a host of transformative learning experiences that engage students, community, and faculty with big ideas, innovative perspectives, and opportunities to envision alternative ways of thinking and being.
Our goal is to create innovative spaces and challenging environments that allow each individual to explore the world around them and to learn—lead—succeed. Our programs and initiatives span academic units, engage outside communities and build a sense of solidarity between multiple communities through our CRC family, Arts and Social Justice Living Learning Community, Promise Internship program, and the Meyer Memorial Trust academic success grant.
We are excited to share with you our vision for developing a progressive, scholarly and socially just community that is known for its accomplished record of developing leaders and scholars from diverse backgrounds through community and academic engagement.
As the Director, I invite you to get involved, share your perspective, your experiences, hopes and dreams.
Collectively we can build our vision of a socially just tomorrow – today.

As a cornerstone of OSU’s student diversity efforts, Diversity & Cultural Engagement (DCE) is committed to the overall development of under-served students. We create and advocate for inclusive and educationally purposeful initiatives that enhance deep learning, academic success, cross-cultural fluency and self-efficacy by fostering a climate that supports social equality, community engagement, and global membership.
Diversity & Cultural Engagement will be a national model as a responsive, progressive, scholarly and socially just community that is known for its accomplished record of developing leaders and scholars from diverse backgrounds through community and academic engagement.

This is what we call developing intellectual "Freedom Fighters"
Empowering underrepresented and marginalized students.
Where we engage off-campus partners (community, industry, business, etc.), students, and faculty in reciprocal relationships that focus on:
"The true focus of revolutionary change is never merely the oppressive situations which we seek to escape, but that piece of the oppressor which is planted deep within each of us"
- Audre Lorde, Sister Outsider (1984)
We are committed to a deep and comprehensive education for all those who engage with our programs and services. The following rubric details the aspirational knowledge, skills, and values we strive to foster in all of our learners.
